Methodology — how we calculate

The calculator is intentionally transparent. Every number comes from the same three formulas. There are no hidden multipliers, no "industry average" fudge factors, and no projection curves.

  1. Gross monthly revenue = average price per request × monthly requests. This is what your API earns before any fees. Pricing is per call in USDC; we sum all endpoints' contributions assuming the average price you provide.
  2. Platform fee = gross × 0.03 on the Free tier, or gross × 0.025 on the Featured tier. The fee is taken on-chain at settlement time — we never hold your funds.
  3. Net to your wallet = gross − platform fee − ($49 if Featured). The Featured subscription is a flat monthly cost on top of the percentage fee.

The breakeven point between Free and Featured is where the 0.5% fee saving exactly offsets the $49 monthly subscription. That happens at $9,800 of gross monthly revenue: at that volume, 0.5% of $9,800 = $49 = the Featured sub. Below $9,800, Free is mathematically better. Above it, Featured is mathematically better. The other reasons to upgrade — gold badge, always-first placement, priority in MCP tool manifests — are visibility and trust signals that can multiply your volume independently.

We do not model: chargebacks (there are none — payments are on-chain), refunds (servers can choose to issue them but most don't), gas fees (Base L2 is sub-cent and the agent pays them), USDC off-ramp fees (varies by exchange — typically 0.5–1.5%), or income tax (varies by jurisdiction).

Property data API: 24 endpoints, $0.002 average, 50,000 req/month. Gross $100/mo. Free tier nets $97/mo ($1,164/yr). Featured nets $48.50/mo after the $49 sub. Stay on Free until ~4× this volume.

Crypto pricing API: 15 endpoints, $0.001 average, 500,000 req/month. Gross $500/mo. Free nets $485/mo ($5,820/yr). Featured nets $438.50/mo. Free is still mathematically better; choose Featured for visibility, not the fee saving.

Geocoding at scale: 5,000,000 req/month at $0.0005. Gross $2,500/mo. Free nets $2,425/mo. Featured nets $2,388.50/mo. Free wins on math; Featured wins on the gold badge if buyers care.
